This is the original "Rosie I" rescued in 1999 and surrendered at the Beltrami Humane Society in Bemidji, Minnesota.  Kathy, Activities Director, saw something special in Rosie and trained her as a therapy dog.  She made her new home in a retirement community called Havenwood Care Center in Bemidji. Rosie still lives a very full life and brings much joy to the residents there.

"Rosie II" was rescued in March, 2005, and Red Lake Rosie's Rescue, Inc., named after these wonderful dogs, became a reality shortly thereafter. Rosie II lived with Karen in her home until she passed away in December 2008.
